• Helmet. Mid tier and up. Better helmets fit better, are quieter, have better venting, and use more advanced safety tech. This protects your brain, so it earns the spend.
• Boots. Good riding boots have real ankle protection, stiff soles, and proper shifter reinforcement that cheap ones fake. Ankles heal slowly. Spend here.
• Armour inserts. Upgrading to CE Level 2 armour in your jacket and pants costs a little and protects a lot. Worth every cent.
• Gloves. The jump from bargain to mid tier gloves buys real palm sliders and knuckle protection plus far better feel on the controls.

Think of it this way. Spend on the things that touch the road first and protect what does not grow back. Your head, your hands, your ankles. That is where the money does its hardest work.

These items hit a quality plateau quickly. A mid priced option protects just as well as a premium one, so save your money for the categories above.

• Jacket and pants shell. A solid mid tier textile jacket and riding jeans protect nearly as well as premium ones. You pay extra mostly for brand, styling, and fancy fabrics. Make sure the armour is good, then save on the shell.
• Base layers and casual riding wear. Function over fashion. Cheaper options work fine.
• Rain gear. A basic packable rain suit does the job. No need for the premium version.
• Accessories. Tank bags, basic luggage, phone mounts. Buy practical, not premium.

Never save here

A short list of places where saving is a mistake, full stop.

2. 02Never skip armour to save money. A jacket without proper inserts is just a coat.
